The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for managing regulatory compliance activities for oil and natural gas operations in Texas. This role serves as a key liaison between the company and the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC), ensuring all filings, permits, and reporting requirements are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with state regulations. The ideal candidate has strong working knowledge of Texas oil and gas regulations and thrives in a detail driven, deadline oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
-  Prepare, submit, and manage upstream regulatory filings with the RRC, including drilling permits, completion reports, production reports, P 5s, P 12s, and P&A related filings
- Monitor regulatory changes and interpret Texas oil and gas rules to ensure ongoing compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the RRC on compliance matters, audits, and inquiries.
- Track and manage compliance deadlines for drilling, completion, production, plugging, and abandonment activities
- Coordinate with operations, land, legal, environmental, and engineering teams to gather required regulatory data
- Assist with regulatory audits, inspections, and enforcement actions, including response preparation and resolution tracking
- Maintain accurate regulatory records and compliance databases
- Support due diligence activities related to acquisitions, divestitures, and asset transfers
- Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective or preventive action

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in oil & gas regulatory compliance
- Experience working within the regulatory arena of oil and gas operations
- Strong knowledge of oil and natural gas regulatory standards
- Experience in communication with state and federal regulatory personnel
- Experience with completing a successful RCC regulation audit situations
- Excellent communication skills in both one on one and group settings
- Experience developing computer based solutions for efficient compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to work in a team setting, work with various team members to complete various compliance measures
- Ability to speak to large groups to communicate regulatory knowledge and appropriate performance
Preferred

Qualifications:
- Direct experience interacting with the RRC on permitting, compliance, or enforcement matters
- 3+ years of regulatory compliance experience in the Texas oil and natural gas industry
- Working knowledge of RRC rules, forms, and electronic filing systems
- Familiarity with drilling, completion, production, and plugging regulations in Texas
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory inspections
- Proficiency with regulatory tracking or well management software
- Ability to effectively communicate with regulatory officials
- Passion to work across a wide array of regulatory compliance including environmental or health and safety compliance
- Technical writing skills & ability to create procedures & policies
- Proficient knowledge of SQL & Power BI digital tools
