Regulatory Specialist

Responsible for variety of regulatory compliance activities related to raw materials, finished products, product registration, labelling, claims, packaging, documentation issuance and change management to drive compliance to applicable McCormick’s Policy and in accordance with assigned countries food laws, legislation, and regulation.

Responsible for review, approval and issuance of Regulatory Documentation and Artwork..Support alignment of processes and delivery of training to stakeholders as required with guidance of regulatory manager. Incumbent will be part of regional regulatory team, collaborates with team members in delivering and implementation of regulatory initiatives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  1. Responsible to ensure Regulatory Compliance to applicable McCormick’s Policy and assigned Countries food laws, legislation, and regulation.
  2. Support monitoring of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia food laws, legislation, and regulation applicable to McCormick’s Consumer Products, along with other team members in Regulatory Team.
  3. Responsible for Review and Approval of Artwork and Sticker- provide technical and legal labelling information and review of claims usage and criteria in accordance with applicable McCormick’s Policy and assigned Countries food laws, legislation, and regulation.
  4. Responsible for Review and Approval of Raw Material, Finished Product Formulation and Packaging in accordance with applicable McCormick’s Policy and assigned Countries food laws, legislation, and regulation.
  5. Responsible for creation and issuance of Regulatory Documents as required by countries regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and customers’ request. Translation of English product documents to Thai as required
  6. Support Consumer NPDs project as assigned and ensure risk assessment and mitigation plans are communicated to stakeholders.
  7. Responsible for driving the adherence of Product Registration process in Thailand for imported and locally manufactured McCormick’s Consumer Product.
  8. Liaison between McCormick Thailand and Thailand Food and Drug Authority (FDA) to ensure product compliance and completion of product registration for imported and locally manufactured McCormick’s Consumer Product.

Support deliverance of Regulatory Initiatives to drive efficiency and empowering stakeholders for business growth, including but not limited to:

  • Standardization of Regulatory Process as assigned.
  • Creation and Maintenance of Regulation, Guidelines, Libraries and Training Materials Database as assigned.
  • Support Claims Developments in conjunction with Marketing, R&D and Functional SMEs.

Conduct relevant training and dissemination of communication materials related to applicable McCormick’s Policy and assigned Countries food laws, legislation, and regulation to stakeholders

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Discipline

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related fields

Minimum Experience Required

  • At least 3 years of Regulatory Affairs experience, preferably within Food, Beverage or Related industry.
  • Knowledge of Asia Pacific Food Regulations and Product Registration Processes, especially for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
  • Familiarity with Halal, Organic and other certification requirements would be desirable.
