The Regulatory Affairs Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance of our raw materials, formulas, and labels with applicable regulatory standards and customer requirements in Canada and the United States. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams—including Quality, CI&TS, Marketing, and Sales to identify regulatory risks, support product development, and maintain documentation that enables on-time product launches and compliant market access.
Key responsibilities include:
• Business Support – provide support related to regional compliance with local legislation for raw materials and finished products - legislation compliance, labeling, legal data calculations, claim validation.
• Customer Support – respond to customer inquiries related to regional compliance and evaluation of customer standards.
• Packaging artwork reviews – Responsible for artwork review of labels in Canada and the US markets.
• Participate in providing feedback and guidance to global teams as related to local legislation. Communicate potential risks, mitigation strategies and alternative solutions to internal stakeholders.
• Raw Material review for compliance in Canada and US markets.
About you:
• Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, biology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in a regulatory position in the food industry.
• Proactive, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into actionable business decisions.
• Bilingual English / French preferred
• SAP experience a plus
