The Regulatory Manager – Ingredients & Specialties will lead the activities that guarantee regulatory compliance of products to be purchased and sold in each of the operational installations and the commercial organization in general. The support includes branch-based product compliance and permits, as well as regulatory approvals and compliance associated with national and international product-specific regulations across all business units in North LATAM.

What you´ll do:

  • Coordinate strategies aimed at promoting sound and ethical regulatory compliance principles and practices, which provide continuous improvement of regulatory compliance programs.
  • Monitor compliance with Official Mexican Standards and International Standards for essential chemicals, precursors, alcohols, as well as foods, specialties, among others.
  • Assess the impact of both national and international regulations pertaining to the company's products to ensure regulatory compliance in the regions where we do business in North LATAM.
  • Participate in reviews of new portfolios and/or new product proposals, expansions, modifications, or new presentations and their regulatory impact on the business.
  • Responsible for the generation of all technical certificates for chemical ingredients, including Kosher certification in conjunction with Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate with the Department of Foreign Trade in the management of the import process of controlled substances (precursors and essential chemicals) and their procedures before, as well as contribute to the process of generation and classification of tariff items of chemical products in general.
  • Provide regulatory trend guidance to internal chemical stakeholders and participate in the development of guidelines and policies to address applicable best practices.
  • Coordinate legal arrangements with health authorities, the Legal department and the staff of North LATAM, as necessary.
  • Own and manage the corporate compliance programs REACH, SGA, Good Practices for the handling of documents, among others.
  • Supervise and collaborate on regulatory customer support, supplier engagement and material document management
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting relevant regulatory reports with COFEPRIS, SEMARNAT and other institutions in international markets, as needed.
  • Participate in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities and other projects where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the communications department on the transfer of information to customers, the general public and regulatory agencies on product standards when necessary.
  • Act as a trainer of commercial/production/administration staff in regulatory affairs.
  • Ensure appropriate control of the annual and monthly budget allocated to the Product Compliance department.
  • Ensure fluid communication with third parties and associated regents to ensure regulatory compliance and regulatory procedures both in Mexico and in the countries of the region.
  • Contribute to the professional development of the team under their charge through internal and external training.

What you´ll need:

  • Bachelor´s in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biological/Life Sciences, or toxicology with directly related experience in chemical management issues.
  • Experience in Chemical Distribution business.
  • English at Advanced level.
  • Experience in Regulatory Affairs in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
  • People management and leadership.
  • Postgraduate in Regulatory Affairs a plus.
  • Requires understanding and experience in REACH/SGA program administration, DEA, and product stewardship regulations are a plus.
  • SAP EHS Module, MDG, Hazcom & Regrec.
  • Perform responsibilities with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a trusted business advisor: problem solving, action plan development, and highly proactive recommendations.

  • Tule, Mexico. Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office.
