About the role

As a Regulatory Affairs Intern, you will support the Regulatory Affairs team with regulatory activities across Central America, gaining hands-on experience in medical device regulations and regulatory processes. You will assist with documentation, regulatory projects and activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support Regulatory Affairs Specialists in regulatory submissions, renewals, amendments, and other lifecycle management activities for medical devices across Central America.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining regulatory documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain regulatory information and documentation within internal databases and information management systems.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs team members and cross-functional partners on regulatory projects across the LATAM region.
  • Support data analysis and automation initiatives to improve regulatory processes and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous learning activities to build knowledge of regulatory affairs and medical device regulations.
  • Perform other regulatory support activities as assigned while maintaining attention to detail and compliance standards.


Work schedule: Hybrid position based in Escazú, Costa Rica.


Required qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or another health-related field.
  • Advanced English proficiency (minimum B2 level), both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Interest in Regulatory Affairs and medical device regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Availability to work in a hybrid environment in Escazú, Costa Rica.


Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of Regulatory Affairs principles or medical device regulations.
  • Experience or coursework related to regulatory, quality, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Knowledge of data automation, data analysis, or process improvement tools.
  • Familiarity with databases or document management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and strong initiative.
