Job Description

Areas of responsibility:

• Monitors and evaluates requirements of new or developing EU food and feed regulations and ensures their implementation
• Monitors and evaluates national (Germany) legal requirements and ensures their implementation
• Acts as the Nordzucker representative in working groups of the committees of CEFS (European Sugar Federation), VdZ (Association of the German Sugar Industry), and BLL (Federal Association for Food Law and Food Science)
• Coordinates exchanges between colleagues responsible for national legal requirements
• Coordinates the interpretation and application of legal requirements on a company and country (Germany) level
• Reviews and approves product labeling for the Nordzucker Group
• Reviews and approves product specifications for the Nordzucker Group added, because there are 2 different topics
• Monitors and evaluates requirements for food contact materials and approves packaging materials for the Nordzucker Group
• Approves food contact materials and packaging declaration of compliance
• Collaborates closely with other departments within the organization, e.g. Sales & Marketing, Public Affairs, Procurement, Production etc.
• Conducts corporate internal and supplier audits in ​​scope of quality and product safety (food and feed)
• Responsible for GMP+ (feed) standards, including following changes and ensuring communication/training and implementation.
• Represents Nordzucker in the “Trade and Production” working group at the standard owner GMP+
• Supports the creation and maintenance of IMS documents
• Stays abreast of developments in legal requirements and standards and provides relevant subject matter training
• Supports other tasks and projects in the area of ​​Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs if necessary, such as membership of the HACCP team, Quality Culture activities / or initiatives, etc.

The ideal candidate (m/w/d)

• Has a minimum of a Bachelors degree in food chemistry or a related field including food/feed law, or administration and law; a Masters degree is preferred
• Is knowledgeable about food and feed standards, such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, IFS Food; knowledge of GMP+ is considered a plus
• Has strong communication skills, with ability to work in international teams and to engage effectively with people at all levels
• Is able to work independently and proactively within the corporate Nordzucker organisation
• Exhibits a systematic and target-oriented way of working
• Is a strong problem solver with a focus on identifying and implementing effective solutions.
• Possesses an analytical and meticulous mindset
• Has a tactful and positive attitude
• Is used to working with Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel etc.)
• Preferred experience in conducting and reporting of audits
• Is fluent in German and in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of a third language is an asset.
