We are looking for a dedicated, professional and customer-focused individual to join Hull Register Office as a Registration Officer.

This is a unique and rewarding role, providing the opportunity to support people during some of the most important moments of their lives. From registering births and deaths to conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality registration service for the residents of Hull.

We're looking for a real people person who is confident communicating with a wide range of customers, can put people at ease in sensitive situations, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service with empathy, professionalism and integrity.

As a Registration Officer, you will carry out statutory registration duties, conduct interviews with customers, ensure legal requirements are met, maintain accurate records and support the delivery of ceremonies in a dignified and professional manner. The role requires excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently within legislative frameworks and procedures.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organised and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. You will enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and be committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming service.

ROLE AND PURPOSE

To carry out the statutory functions of a Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, providing a professional and customer focused registration service to customers within the Hull Registration District, delivering a full range of registration services that complies with General guidelines and with legislation relating to Register Offices.

To register life events, interviewing parents or relatives after a birth or death and recording accurate details for both paper and computerised records.

To both undertake legal preliminaries and conduct and register civil ceremonies such as marriages and civil partnerships in line with legislation and in a dignified and professional manner.

£29,540.00 - £32,061.00
