What You'll Do
Registration of patients presenting to Northwest Medical Center. Conducts patient interviews to obtain registration information, complete required forms and obtains signatures. Initiates financial counseling process. Collects monies owed. Verifies insurance at point of service and calculates patient estimates. Represents Northwest Medical Center as the focal point for all initial communications .
Responsibilities
Accurately obtains all required information to perform registration of patients for all services.
Engages with all areas of patient access: ED, Outpatient, Surgery, and Financial Counseling
Assists Supervisor with daily reports relating to accuracy of information obtained in the registration process. Actively identifies trends and offers solutions.
Coordinates Training and orientation documentation with direction of supervisor.
Maintains the employee schedule with direction of supervisor.
Assists in candidate selection and peer interviews
Appropriately obtains authorizations and verifications for services and enters into system
Obtains accurate insurance information for billing purposes.
Successfully obtains co payments for services rendered or to be rendered.
Correctly collects and receipts payments. Completes all required data for financial services.
Effectively communicates with customers. Assists customers with inquiries.
Assertively demonstrates ability to meet production standard of collection goals for NWMC.
Consistently refers uninsured and underinsured patients to financial assistance.
Efficiently utilizes resources and supplies.
Proficiently utilizes computer system to access patient information, email, and other required systems.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to perform all responsibilities of the scheduler as needed to ensure continuous scheduling coverage.
1+ year of scheduling, administrative support, or clerical experience (healthcare or service operations preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service skills and professional communication (phone, email, and in-person).
Education and Experience
Minimum of 6 months customer service required. Knowledge of computers, and other standard office equipment required. Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required.
Medical office experience preferred.
