Aga Khan Foundation

The position

The Registrar will lead and coordinate the College’s academic administration and student records functions, ensuring effective management of admissions, student registration, academic records, examinations, results, certification and student progression. The Registrar will also contribute to establishing efficient, accountable and compliant academic administration systems for the College’s diploma-level teacher education programmes.

The position will report to the Academic Manager/Head of Academic Affairs and/or designated College Management and work closely with academic staff, students, MECP-Z management, government education authorities and other relevant stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate student admissions, registration, orientation and academic progression;
  • Maintain accurate, secure and confidential student records, transcripts and academic information;
  • Coordinate examinations, assessment administration, results processing and related documentation;
  • Manage student completion, certification and graduate records;
  • Ensure effective implementation of academic policies, regulations, procedures and calendars;
  • Maintain institutional academic data and prepare reports for management and relevant education authorities;
  • Support quality assurance, programme reviews, inspections, accreditation and regulatory compliance processes;
  • Provide responsive academic administrative support to students and coordinate effectively with the Academic Manager, Diploma Teachers and College management; and
  • Strengthen academic records, information-management and administrative systems of the College.

The requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Education Administration, Educational Management, Administration, Records Management, Public Administration or a related field from a recognised institution;
  • Relevant experience in academic administration, student records, examinations, registry services or administration within a teacher training institution, college, university or similar education institution;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential academic and student records and digital information systems;
  • Strong computer, organisational, communication and coordination skills; and
  • Knowledge of education regulatory and quality-assurance requirements will be an added advantage.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Education Administration, Educational Management, Higher Education Administration, Records Management or a related field will be an added advantage.
