Registered Veterinary Technician/Technologist - Southglen Veterinary Hospital

Southglen Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our high-performing team in Winnipeg.

This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced general practice and urgent care hospital where your skills are valued, your voice is heard, and you’ll have the support of an experienced veterinary team. Southglen offers exposure to urgent care and emergency-style cases without overnight shifts, making this an excellent opportunity for an RVT who enjoys a dynamic caseload while still valuing work-life balance.

We also have seamless access to Bridgwater for advanced or transferred cases, providing opportunities to learn from more complex cases while ensuring patients receive the level of care they need.

You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of cases, including urgent care, anesthesia, surgery, diagnostics, treatment and patient monitoring, while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population
  • Support veterinarians with medical, surgical, and urgent care cases
  • Monitor anesthesia and support patients through surgical procedures
  • Perform and assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring
  • Support soft tissue surgery and other procedures
  • Triage and assist with urgent and emergency-style cases
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
  • Work closely with DVMs and the veterinary team to provide excellent patient care
  • Participate in ongoing learning and clinical development
  • Help maintain a positive, collaborative, and efficient hospital environment

What You Bring

We are looking for an RVT who is:

  • Registered and in good standing with the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association
  • Passionate about patient care and nursing
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and nursing care, or eager to continue developing these skills
  • Interested in GP, surgery, urgent care, and/or emergency medicine
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented
