Job Description

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Eagle Rise Animal Hospital | Victoria, BC

Eagle Rise Animal Hospital is reopening with a new team, and we are looking for an experienced, confident Registered Veterinary Technician to help launch and grow the next chapter of this clinic.

Located in Colwood, a vibrant and beachy community in the Westshore of Victoria, Eagle Rise offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with easy access to beaches, trails, and everything the Westshore has to offer. This is an opportunity to be part of something from the ground up while still working in a well-equipped, modern hospital.

This role is best suited to an RVT who is comfortable working as a sole technician alongside the veterinarian. Strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a steady presence are essential. With that responsibility comes compensation that reflects your experience and the importance of the role.

The Hospital
Eagle Rise is equipped with digital X-ray including dental radiography, IDEXX in-house laboratory analyzers, and the tools needed to deliver efficient, high-quality medicine in a small-team environment.

The Role
You will play a key role in patient care, client communication, and the overall flow of the hospital. Duties are consistent with those of an RVT and include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Taking a lead role in anesthesia, surgery preparation and recovery, drug calculations, dental procedures, and triage

• Operating diagnostic equipment including digital X-ray and dental X-ray

• Performing and supporting in-house laboratory diagnostics

• Maintaining accurate and complete medical records

• Managing controlled drug logs, X-ray logs, and documentation in compliance with CVBC and Health Canada requirements

• Educating clients on animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions

• Helping establish strong routines and workflows, and SOPs as the hospital reopens, with a practical, solution-focused mindset

About You

• Registered Veterinary Technician with strong confidence in anesthesia, dentistry, and surgical support

• Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in a sole-RVT setting

• Solid understanding of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and dental procedures

• Calm, capable, and positive, with the right attitude to help launch and grow a reopening clinic

• Eligible to live and work in Canada

Other Information

• Opportunity to help shape the culture and standards of a reopening hospital

• Compensation will reflect experience and level of responsibility

If you are an experienced RVT looking for a role where your skills truly matter and where you can help build something meaningful from the start, we would love to hear from you.

About VetStrategy

Being part of VetStrategy is about being part of something bigger – an ever-growing community, where we connect person-to-person and skill-to-need, united by a common purpose of healthy animals, happy owners. From our humble beginning in 2006 to the present day, we continue to make a difference in the lives of people who have dedicated themselves to this industry.

When VetStrategy co-founders Orin Litman and his wife, Dr. Michelle Cutler, decided to acquire McLean Animal Hospital in 2006, they focused on three promises – our Customer Promise of world-class veterinary care, delivered locally; our People Promise, to be a great place to work; and our Sustainability Promise to be a force for good for patients, people and our plant.

Keeping our three promises led VetStrategy to become the leading veterinary network in Canada, with veterinary practices, 24-hour emergency care, and specialty hospitals coast-to-coast. We have developed and refined a model for supporting our practices across the country.

What we do:

We care for those dedicated to caring for animals by creating a workplace where we focus on innovation, engagement, and teamwork.

We know the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into building each practice, and we don’t want to touch that – we truly embrace the uniqueness of each clinic. Our heritage first approach means we won’t change a clinic’s name, culture or heritage.

We understand the challenges our veterinary teams face and are committed to doing what’s right – for them, their clients, and their patients.

We care about the future of veterinary medicine. Everything we do comes back to ensuring that veterinarians have the time, support, and infrastructure to focus on responsible medicine and quality care.

We believe in empowering our support office and clinic staff and providing them opportunities to develop their skills and grow in their careers.
