Who We're Looking For
Join our incredible team at American Animal Hospital as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, venipuncture, restraint, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.
American Animal Hospital is a 3-doctor hospital open from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am - 1 pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays. We aim to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent quality medicine and compassionate medical care. Requirements:
• Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
• 3+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
• TPR
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
