Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice in Thurrock!

We encourage all our colleagues to be their best and achieve their careers goals. So, whether you’re an experienced RVN looking for the next steps in your career, or you’re looking for a practice to help you become an RVN, we would love to hear from you and see how we can help support you!

This is a part-time role working up to 20 hours a week including 1 in 4 weekends. There may be an opportunity to increase hours in the future.

About us

Our thriving small animal surgery in Thurrock has grown steadily since it’s opening, and we are an accredited Practice by RCVS and recently renewed our PSS. We’re based inside Pets at Home on the busy Lakeside Retail Park and offer free onsite parking and convenient access to major transport routes including the A13 and M25.

You'll be working alongside a fantastic team made up of 4 vets including a head vet, 3 RVN, 2 SVN, 1 VCA, 5 CCAs, a Reception Manager, a Practice Manager and Practice Director Dipty.

We’re proud to offer fantastic facilities that make every day varied and rewarding. Our practice boasts a dedicated operating theatre, three consult rooms, and nurse consultation room, giving plenty of scope for hands on patient and client care.

You’ll have access to a full range of diagnostic equipment, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and heart scan facilities, plus keyhole surgery with a laparoscopic spay unit. We also have a modern dental suite with dental x-ray, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and separate dog and cat wards to keep our patients comfortable. With laser therapy and advanced orthopaedic surgery also on site, you’ll be part of a team that can truly offer the highest standard of care.

About you

  • You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
  • You are able to provide guidance by keeping yourself fully up-to-speed with the practice services and any additional services available.
  • You are calm, attentive, and always focus on the clients’ needs.
  • You will bring enthusiasm and drive to your role. Your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.
  • You can deal with everything that is thrown at you, from comforting a client who has had some bad news about their pet or sharing in the joy of a new puppy’s first visit to the vet.
  • Your personality is infectious and along with your fellow colleagues, you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.

In short, you like to be busy, enjoy helping people and their pets and always endeavour to make a difference.

Benefits

In return, we offer benefits such as:
