The Dick Vet Equine Hospital is looking for an experienced and reliable Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). The post-holder should have a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team across our equine Medicine, Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Services. RVN is essential but not necessarily in equine, we require a competent horse handler, along with excellent equine nursing and interpersonal skills.

The post holder will join a team of 10 friendly nurses, with responsibilities including theatre nursing for both standing and surgeries performed under general anaesthesia, support in lameness investigations, advanced diagnostic imaging and stock control. The post-holder will work independently to organise and prioritise daily/weekly workload and will contribute to teaching our undergraduate veterinary students. Out of hours working may be required.

The Opportunity:

Our highly-skilled team provide nursing support for a wide and varied caseload, with advanced equipment ranging from a 3T MRI to the latest and most advanced cardiac ultrasound machines. The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary hospital team supporting the clinical, teaching and research activities within the hospital.

The hospital is located on the beautiful Easter Bush Campus, sitting at the foot of the iconic Pentland Hills, and only a ten-minute commute from Edinburgh city centre.
