Location Wicstun Vets , The Gables , Hessel HU13 9HD

Salary £30,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days

The Role

  • We are looking for an RVN to join our small friendly team here at The Gables Veterinary Centre.

  • Our facilities compromise of 3 consultation rooms, separate dog and cat waiting areas, separate wards for dogs and cats, one theatre, a dental suite, an X-RAY and ultrasound room, In house lab and an isolation ward.

  • The role will consist of 10 hr shifts: 4 days a week, a mix of earlies and late shifts, It will be a fair mix of consulting and prep/anaesthesia.

  • Our nursing team currently consists of 4 RVNs, 1 SVN and 1 PCA.

  • We are looking for a friendly, hard working nurse, who is able to give a high standard of care to our patients and clients. An open mindset to evidence based approaches is a MUST.

  • A proactive nurse who is keen to work to the top of their remit would be the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering a high quality of patient care.

  • Undertake all general nursing duties within the practice, utilising your nursing skills to maximise provision of nursing care within the remit of your qualification and the RCVS code of professional conduct.

  • Ensure accurate clinical record keeping, including anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms and clinical notes.

  • Uphold the premises and patient areas to a high a high clinical standard, adhering to stringent infection control protocols and maintenance of equipment, reporting faults or damages.

  • ·Work alongside the veterinary and nursing teams to deliver an efficient quality service. Be accountable for any specific tasks or responsibilities delegated.

  • Responsibility for improving quality patient care by engaging with feedback from site level and group level audits, contributing to incident reporting and reviewing.

  • Engage with and deliver high-quality patient care initiatives.

  • Participate in relevant continual professional development (CPD) appropriate to your role, engage in Linnaeus and in-house training opportunities. Actively share learnings with team members, contributing ideas to improve patient care.
