Job Title: Registered veterinary nurse
Reporting to: Clinical nursing manager
Location: Kings veterinary Centre , Syston
SalaryFrom £31,200 per annum depending on experience
Hours 40 hours per week over 4 days- 1:5 Saturday and Sunday rota

The role:

We are seeking an experienced veterinary nurse to join our team.

Rotating throughout the working week between inpatient, theatre and consulting roles, our nurses can get involved in a varied caseload of small animal work.

We pride ourselves on providing our own out-of-hours serviceWith dedicated night nurses, there are no weeknights on call in this role. However, participation in our 1:5 Saturday and Sunday day rota, along with an equal share of bank holidays is expected at our OOH hospital in Melton Mowbray.

Our full-time nurses work 4 days a week on an 8:00am – 6:00pm or 8:30am – 6:30pm shift pattern with paid lunch breaks. This allows for a good work life balance which is essential in maintaining the high demands of veterinary life.

Kings Veterinary Centre is a first opinion RVCS accreditedveterinary practice with 5 branches and a hospital in the surrounding area

We pride ourselves in offering on-site emergency care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical staff provide high standards of bespoke, affordable care to our patients and our clients

We are heavily involved in the local community and actively support many local pet charities.

Exciting news! We are moving to our brand-new hospital in May 2026, a stone's throw away from our current Melton site.

What we offer:

  • 40 hours plus 1:5weekends, though currently 1:8.No nights on call during the week or weekends, however you are expected to participate in the shared bank holiday rota.
