Llanarth Court has an opportunity for a Registered Social Worker to join our team.
Llanarth Court is a specialist medium secure, low secure, and open rehabilitation psychiatric hospital. Located in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Llanarth Court offers convenient transport links and easy access to the A40 and A459. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.
What you'll be doing
The Social Work role involves being part of a small team of Social Workers who have a key role in multidisciplinary teams. You will work alongside colleagues from psychiatry, psychology, nursing and occupational therapy to provide a package of care to patients with forensic and mental health needs
You will be responsible for identifying the social/non-medical needs for the patients and for ensuring those needs are met. This role includes detailed risk assessment & management, safeguarding responsibilities, liaison with families & community networks.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
Applicants must hold a Degree in Social Work and be currently registered with Social Work England, with completion of the ASYE or equivalent post-qualifying experience. They should have experience managing a caseload independently and undertaking assessments, risk management, safeguarding enquiries, and care planning, as well as working with multi-agency partners. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policy is required, along with the ability to manage complex cases under appropriate supervision. Candidates must also demonstrate strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills, alongside the ability to produce professional reports and maintain accurate records.
