
Responsible for assessing the nursing care needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients in the Cardiac Rehab department according to nursing and department philosophy, goals, policies and procedures. Maintains standards of nursing care and practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing a comprehensive, individualized rehabilitation plan for cardiopulmonary patients enrolled in the inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehab programs. Performing and assisting with all diagnostic procedures within cardiology and nuclear medicine. Responsible for performing all aspects of non-invasive diagnostic cardiology exams, which include but are not limited to EKGs, Holter monitor hook-up and scans, and stress testing. Proficiency in vital signs monitoring, cardiac monitoring and 12 lead EKG interpretation
Essential Duties
Responsible for assessing the nursing care needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients in the Cardiac Rehab department according to nursing and department philosophy, goals, policies and procedures.
Monitor patients for arrhythmias, support their efforts to exercise, and identify any risks in their treatment plan.
Maintain departmental records, reports and files as directed. File and/or scan recordings. Retrieve previous recordings for comparison. Enter patient data, retrieve and review data in/from computer terminal.
Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
Attends the monthly staff meeting and offers input into the overall plan of cardiopulmonary service.
Demonstrates positive guest relation skills and professionalism behavior in dealing with all hospital contacts. Demonstrates commitment to professionalism. Maintains an open mind in dealing with any situation

Qualifications
Minimum: Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Certified in basic CPR course
ACLS
Experience
Minimum: Two years nursing critical care and two years recent diagnostic cardiology experience.
Preferred: One year cardiac diagnostic stress lab.
