Join Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital – a team-oriented community where Respiratory Therapists are valued caregivers and vital members of the multidisciplinary care team.

We provide evidence-based care for adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, and lung cancer.

  • Collaborative Shifts:Two RTs are scheduled per shift to ensure support, teamwork, and quality care.

  • Dynamic Workflow:You’ll rotate through the ICU, ED, and other units—no two days are the same.

  • Midday Coverage Bonus:From 11 AM to 3 PM, a third RT overlaps to provide extra support for continued education, oxygen rounding, and proactive patient care.

A caregiver who excels in this role will

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.

  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate

  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.

  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.

  • Educate the patient and family about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.

  • At sites where applicable, the employee will perform blood gas puncture and analysis.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include

  • Associate's Degree and graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program .

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board licensure.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care

  • Prior experience in critical care

  • ACLS, PALS credentialing through the AHA.

Physical Requirements:

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

  • May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
