About the opportunity

CATT (Crisis Assessment and treatment team) is a multidisciplinary team that provides short-term, intensive support to individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis—often as an alternative to hospital admission.

Training and career Progression

  • Regular training in areas like crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, and legal frameworks.

  • Pathway into leadership, clinical coordination, or specialist mental health roles.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 24 months acute experience working within a senior role.

  • Demonstrated competency in mental state & risk assessment and the ability to prioritize workload.

  • Previous CATT/EMH employment highly sought after.

  • Current registration with APHRA.

  • Ability to work as a leading member of the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and function optimally within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Clinicians require a strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and resilience.

  • Be passionate about early intervention and recovery-oriented care.

  • Professionals who value autonomy, teamwork, and real-world impact.

  • Clinicians must be comfortable with uncertainty and have the ability around quick decision-making.

  • Deliver timely, person-cantered interventions that can prevent hospitalization.

  • Help stabilize individuals and connect them with ongoing supports.

  • Ability to document and search appropriate data bases.

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

  • A current unrestricted Victorian Driver’s License and ability to drive a work vehicle

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
