Job Description

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study tracing quality to ensure that signals are artifact-free and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Gathers, analyzes, and collects patient information in an effort to meet patient specific needs in conjunction with Sleep Disorders Center protocols.
• Prepares a summary of technical findings for interpretation by a sleep specialist by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care and perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic testing on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Sets up and administers CPAP or BIPAP, as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards set forth in the clinical practice guidelines.
• Assists with the maintenance of the Sleep Disorders Center accreditation via the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) through standardized protocols and quality measures (i.e. inter-scorer reliability).
• Documents all records in a complete fashion, including all pertinent patient data.
• Complies with Time and Attendance in accordance with Health System policy.
• Successfully completes any other duties as may be assigned.
