Job Description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the clinical staff of Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee. Duties include hiring, training, annual evaluations and doing corrective actions with the clinical staff of Bone and Joint Institute. Additional responsibilities include administrative oversight of clinical program implementation including the bundled-payment program and other surgical and clinical programs. And other clinical duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Formal Education/Training:

Minimum degree: Master’s Degree

Clinical background required: RN or ATC

Experience in administrative operations of clinical staff in orthopaedic physician practice setting.

Workplace Experience:

At least five years of experience in an orthopaedic physician practice. Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Equipment and Skills Training:

Strong computer skills, communication and presentation skills required. Proficiency in evaluation, implementation, and utilization of Artificial Intelligence platforms. Demonstrates ability to self-direct, meet deadlines, and support the administration of Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee.

Physical Environment:

Physician clinic setting.

Physical Effort:

Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 30 pounds. May require prolong standing and working up to eight hours on feet. Ability to travel as needed to orthopedic clinics outside of the main office.

Key Results:

Maintains administrative functions for department operations.

Facilitates staff development, assists with the orientation and training of new personnel, ongoing educational programs and annual evaluations.

Acts as liaison to support clinical care responding to assistance needed from staff and assisting physicians as requested. Works as needed in other areas to cover vacation or absences.

Promotes patient safety and ensures quality care through rounding, identifying issues, and process improvement activities.

Assists with ordering and inventory of clinical supplies. Directs and monitors the count, tracking, and distribution of viscosupplement inventory for all main and satellite clinics. Ensures documentation accuracy and maintaining cost-effective supply management.

Responds to patient complaints in a timely manner. Implements corrective actions and process improvements to elevate the overall patient experience and satisfaction scores.

Coordinates and facilitates physician, department, and leadership meetings to ensure effective communication, follow-through on initiatives, and alignment with practice-wide goals and objectives

Oversees and manages the scribe program, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow efficiency, and quality of provider documentation. Works closely with providers to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance with clinical documentation standards.

Manages clinic staffing schedules, timekeeping, and payroll accuracy for all clinical personnel. Ensures adequate coverage, equitable scheduling, and alignment with productivity.

Improves performance with regard to patient/employee satisfaction scores.

Reports completely and accurately any incident that may warrant review by manager/physician.

Performs other duties as assigned by CEO and independently seeks out job duties to further benefit patient services while meeting the bottom line.
