Position Summary

Serves as a regional clinical resource supporting Therapeutic Services and Cellular Therapy operations across the Versiti footprint. Delivers patient and donor care while providing operational flexibility, supporting new program implementation, ensuring service continuity, and enabling strategic growth across existing and future markets. Travel throughout the Versiti service area is required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapeutic apheresis and cellular therapy services, including but not limited to Autologous and Allogeneic HPC and MNC product collections, extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP), and LDL apheresis, in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies, including FDA, FACT, AABB, ASFA, HIPAA, cGMP, and cGTP standards.
• Provides regional clinical support across the Versiti service area to ensure continuity of patient and donor care, support staffing needs, facilitate new program implementation, and promote organizational growth initiatives. Travel requirements vary based on business needs and may comprise up to 30% of scheduled work time, including occasional overnight travel.
• Participate in quality assurance, continuous improvement, education, and competency activities, to support clinical excellence. Maintains competence through attendance at mandatory and other job-related educational opportunities.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, hospital personnel, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient and donor care.
• Supports research studies, new service implementations, and other departmental initiatives as applicable
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical record systems and other required documentation platforms.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
• Participate in training new apheresis staff

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required, 2 years preferred required
• One year apheresis experience or related filed preferred
• Experience in critical care, hematology/oncology, and/or dialysis preferred
• Experience with peripheral venipuncture and central venous access devices, preferred preferred
• Experience working in a regional nursing role, travel nursing assignment, or multi-site healthcare environment preferred. preferred

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Versiti service area, including overnight travel as needed to support patient, donor, and operational needs. Travel may comprise up to 30% of work time based on business demands. required

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Multi-state licensure and additional state licenses (including Michigan and Illinois) must be current at hire or obtained within 90 days of hire. required
• BLS Certification required
• Valid Driver’s License required for designated State and access to a vehicle required

Tools and Technology

• Spectra Optia® Apheresis System desired
• Therakos® Cellex® Photopheresis System, as applicable desired
• Liposorber® LA-15 System, as applicable desired
• Accessory equipment (IV pumps, blood warmers, non – invasive blood pressure monitor) preferred
• Personal Computer/Laptop and/or tablets required
• Smartphone required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with hospital based Computerized Patient Record systems (Cerner, EPIC, etc.) preferred
