Come work with a great team! Signet Health manages the Behavioral Health Services for Medstar Washington Hospital Center and has a Part-time weekend Night Shift opening for a Psychiatric Licensed Registered Nurse Supervisor.

The Registered Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for providing accountability for the nursing functions on the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. This position is instrumental for the overall functioning in the delivery of behavioral healthcare to all patients and adherence to all other regulatory agencies.

Requirements/Qualifications

Major Duties and Essential Functions:

  • Provides for the seamless transition of patients across the continuum of care. In collaboration with medical staff, to ensure a superior care experience and a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Coordinates patient care for the department of psychiatry during off-shift hours of operation.
  • Manages staffing during a census surge or decline.
  • Manages and coordinates patient flow i.e., admissions and discharges.
  • Provides strategic support for shortages or difficult to manage patient scenarios.
  • Supervises codes (Such as medical emergencies, Rapid responses, psychiatric emergencies, and Code Red).
  • Supervisory rounding on all inpatient areas where MHTs or other contract staff employees are working, to offer support and ensure department policy and protocols are being followed as designed (ex. patient observations occurring as ordered).
  • Communicates in a timely manner with the Leadership Team
  • Interfaces with police and other regulatory agencies that come on-site when administrators are not present.
  • Completes Performance Improvement/Quality Audits.
  • Builds trust with the nursing staff through visibility.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for The District of Columbia.
  • One year Adult Psych, and/or Chemical Dependency nursing experience preferred.
  • Psychiatric mental health certification a plus. 
  • Articulate verbal communication and strong written skills.
  • Proficient computer skills required; Cerner Medconnect experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.

Salary

Minimum: $47.804

Maximum: $59.01

Weekend Night Shift Differential: $9.00

salary is based on experience
