As part of the fast-growing Lumia Care Group, we combine local experience with national capability to deliver clinically governed aged care, disability support, and community nursing services.

With continued growth, we are expanding our team and offering a highly autonomous, assessment-focused nursing role within the South Australian Criminal Justice System.

You’ll deliver consultation, triage and assessment-based care within SAPOL custody settings, supporting detainee wellbeing, contributing to hospital avoidance, and working closely with SAPOL officers and medical practitioners.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver nursing care within scope of practice in line with AHPRA standards
• Conduct Fit for Custody assessments in collaboration with SAPOL
• Provide clinical support to detainees and police officers
• Perform timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Liaise with GPs and other healthcare professionals
• Identify and respond to clinical deterioration or incidents
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development

About You

You’re an experienced Registered Nurse who is confident working autonomously, comfortable making clinical decisions, and motivated by meaningful, non-traditional nursing work.

You’ll bring:

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Minimum 3 years’ acute care experience
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication

Mandatory Requirements

• National Police Clearance
• Unrestricted South Australian Driver’s Licence
• Working with Children clearance
• Current First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling certificates
• Evidence of mandatory vaccinations (including COVID-19 and Influenza)
