Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy River Valley Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a part-time, 24-hour-per-week position.

In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic patients throughout their surgical and recovery journey, ensuring a safe, positive, and healing experience.

As a valued member of our orthopedic care team, you will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a specialized orthopedic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient condition and response to treatment.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Promote patient safety and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver compassionate care while maintaining Mercy's mission and values.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred

  • Previous orthopedic, surgical, hospital, or acute care nursing experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
