We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Women's Services to provide exceptional maternal and obstetric nursing care in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Labor and Delivery RN who is passionate about supporting mothers, newborns, and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.
The Women's Services RN will provide direct patient care across Labor and Delivery (L&D), Postpartum, and Antepartum services, working collaboratively with obstetricians, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, coordinated, and patient-centered care.
This position requires a strong foundation in Labor and Delivery nursing, excellent clinical judgment, and the flexibility to support patients across multiple areas of Women's Services.
Cross-training is available for Postpartum and Antepartum care, making this an attractive opportunity for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses interested in expanding their maternal healthcare expertise.
Important Experience Requirement: Candidates without direct Labor and Delivery RN experience will not be considered. Labor and Delivery experience must be recent and fall within the past two years.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with at least two years of direct L&D experience, including recent experience within the past two years.
Candidates must possess a current North Carolina RN license or qualifying compact license with North Carolina endorsement and demonstrate the clinical competence necessary to provide safe, effective maternal care.
The strongest applicants will have a solid background in labor management, maternal and fetal monitoring, obstetric nursing assessments, and patient-centered childbirth support.
While previous experience in Postpartum and Antepartum nursing is beneficial, cross-training can be provided in these areas. Candidates must, however, be willing and comfortable working across all three Women's Services specialties.
This position is particularly well suited for nurses who demonstrate clinical confidence, adaptability, compassionate communication, and a strong commitment to maternal and newborn health.
Please Note: Labor and Delivery RN experience is mandatory. Candidates whose experience is limited exclusively to Postpartum, Antepartum, Mother-Baby, or other nursing specialties without qualifying Labor and Delivery experience will not meet the minimum requirements.
$65,000 – $85,000 annually
Compensation within the listed range will be determined based on the candidate's additional Labor and Delivery expertise, recent obstetric nursing experience, Women's Services clinical background, specialized qualifications, professional certifications, and overall alignment with the position.
