A Brief Overview

Responsible for promotion of optimal dialysis services via implementation of clinical activities, patient, professional and public education, performance improvement and administrative functions. This position is responsible to establish goals, objectives, standards of performance and to develop policies and procedures.

What you will do

  • In collaboration with leadership, is responsible and accountable for the ongoing operations of the unit.
  • Manages the department’s resources to provide positive patient outcomes and meet budgetary goals and objectives.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize unit efficiency.
  • Collects data and monitors for trending of information that could be used to improve operations and affect patient outcomes.
  • Assists the hospital based policy and procedure committee by reviewing and updating department policies.
  • Assumes responsibility to communicate policies to staff and monitors compliance.
  • Responsible for customer relations to include resolution of patient complaints, communication of risk management concerns and initiation of appropriate follow up.
  • Ensures dialysis machines are disinfected and that cultures and LALs are obtained within parameters set forth by AAMI.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years of dialysis experience


Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Previous management experience
