Job Description

Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) NICU in Nashville, TN.   The NICU RN will treat and evaluate term and premature newborns who may present with neonatal illnesses and promote the growth and development of the child and family.Primary areas of care can include the Level II Special Care Nursery, Delivery Room, Well-Newborn Nursery.   NICU RN Roles and Responsibilities:   
  •  Attend term and pre-term deliveries and render appropriate care in the delivery room
  • Perform comprehensive assessment and care to neonates
  • Implement treatment plans based on evidence-based practices for neonatal health conditions, considering their gestational age, medical condition, and family preferences
  • Assist with procedures such as intubation, umbilical line placement, and other specialized interventions
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration to provide coordinated and holistic care to neonates
  • Education and integration of parents and families into the neonatal care team by providing excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Display strong clinical judgement and critical thinking skills in neonatal care
  • Engagement in unit development and education
  • Required to float to Mother/Baby Unit
     Required Skills & Qualifications:     
  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN Degree Program
  • 2 years minimum of NICU experience preferred (hospital setting)
  • Delivery room training preferred
  • Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. ACLS, NRP, CPI and STABLE required within 90 days of hire date
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various members of the health care team, patients, and families.
