Description:

At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Interventional Radiology Registered Nurses provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Working alongside radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, RNs play a critical role in patient assessment, procedural support, conscious sedation administration, monitoring, recovery, and patient education throughout the continuum of care.

What You Will Do

  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
  • Administer medications and conscious sedation in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Provide continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring during procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Deliver pre-procedure education and post-procedure instructions to patients and families.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience.
  • Three or more years of recent ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Cath Lab experience.
  • Experience with conscious sedation and image-guided interventional procedures.
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
