Job Details

Our EP Lab RN's:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures, including EP studies, cardiac ablations, device implantations, cardioversions, and related procedures.
  • Perform pre-procedure assessments, review medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, and diagnostic studies.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including IV access, medication administration, patient education, and procedural consent verification.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures for changes in cardiac rhythm, vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition.
  • Administer medications, including moderate sedation and emergency medications, in accordance with provider orders and organizational protocols.
  • Assist the electrophysiologist and procedural team with sterile technique, equipment preparation, and patient positioning.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, bleeding, allergic reactions, and other procedural complications.
  • Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for vascular complications, arrhythmias, bleeding, and changes in patient condition.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, activity restrictions, wound care, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses.
  • Collaborate effectively with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, anesthesia providers, radiology/technical staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives, patient-safety programs, infection prevention, and ongoing competency development.
  • Maintain knowledge of current electrophysiology practices, cardiac rhythms, procedural equipment, and emergency response protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of critical nursing experience required. Previous experience in electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, or procedural nursing preferred.
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in an accredited BSN program.
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider certification required from the American Heart Association,
  • Ability to wear and work while wearing protective lead garments for prolonged periods as required for radiation safety.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the procedural and clinical areas.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, transfer, and reposition patients and equipment as required, with appropriate assistance and use of safe patient-handling techniques.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as required by the position.
  • Ability to assist with patient transfers between beds, stretchers, procedure tables, and other clinical surfaces.

Salary Range

USD $56.39 - USD $73.66 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
