What We Offer
Step into a unit where teamwork, advanced clinical skills, and compassionate care come together to make a meaningful impact. Our PCTU Cardiac Intermediate Unit specializes in caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, complex medical management, and a higher level of observation than a traditional acute care setting.
Nurses on this team gain valuable experience supporting patients through both pre- and post-procedural cardiac care, while working in an environment that fosters collaboration, growth, and clinical excellence.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with:
• Providing care for pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients, including pacemakers, ablations, TAVR, and other structural heart interventions
• Monitoring and interpreting telemetry, recognizing early signs of clinical deterioration
• Administering and titrating cardiac IV therapies such as heparin, antiarrhythmics, and other medications within intermediate care guidelines
• Supporting recovery and stabilization for patients transitioning from higher-acuity units or preparing for discharge
• Educating patients and families on procedures, medications, and long-term cardiac health
• Specialized focus on cardiac intermediate and procedural patient populations
• Strong team culture with a highly collaborative and supportive environment
• Active rewards and recognition committees that celebrate team success
• Consistently high patient experience scores across the unit
• Strong team member satisfaction and engagement across Novant Health
• Robust learning opportunities and clear pathways for clinical growth and advancement
• A fast-paced, high-acuity setting ideal for nurses looking to advance into cardiac specialties or critical care
