Position Purpose
In the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nuse (RN) provide high-quality inpatient care to adults experiencing acute and chronic mental health and substance use disorders. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patient recovery and well-being.
What You Will Do:
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and mental health status, including psychiatric stability and withdrawal symptoms
Administer medications safely, monitor for effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on treatment plans
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers
Monitor patient progress and document clinical findings accurately and timely
Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation when needed
Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing school
Valid RN license in Connecticut
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Mental Health; Substance use treatment or Behavioral Health acute inpatient setting experience.
BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
