The Adolescent Psychiatric unit isan14-bed acute stabilization unit for adolescent patients with a primary psychiatric/chemical dependency diagnosis. The Adolescent inpatient psychiatric program specializes in adolescent acute care for patients aged 12 - 17 withprimaryDSM5 or ICD10 diagnosis.
Performscarerequiressubstantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological,physicaland social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
Provides safe, high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
Monitors patient conditions, administers treatments and physician orders, and documents patient care accurately.
Educates patients and familiesregardingtreatment plans, procedures, and discharge needs.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, leadership, and teamwork in daily nursingpractice
Maintains compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, licensure, and continuing education standards.
Requirements:
Graduateofan accredited School of Nursing with a current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permitrequired
Associate degree in Nursingrequired;Bachelor’sdegree preferred.
No experiencerequired; patient care experience preferred.
BLS certification through the American Heart Associationrequiredwithin30 daysof hire.
Additionalrequired training includes Glucometer, Aegis, RN Patient Deterioration, Life-Threatening Arrhythmia, and Nurse Wound Care training within establishedtimeframes
