Registered Nurse– Stroke and Neurology unit, Telemetry (3F)

ScheduleFull-time | 1st Shift | 12-hour shifts | 3 days per week
About 3FThis unit is a 24- bed Telemetry unit that supports our comprehensive stroke program. It specializes in the care of Neurology, Neurosurgery, TIA, and CVA. This unit also serves as an overflow for orthopedic patients. The patient population is transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
The Registered Nurse (RN)delivers compassionate, evidence-based care designed to support healing and wellness. In this role, you’ll coordinate, ensure, and provide direct patient care while creating an environment rooted in dignity, respect, and empathy. You will use your clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients across the lifespan.
As a clinical nurse, you’ll spend the majority of your time (>50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care through:
Conducting nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
Facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
Providing patient and family-centered education
Coordinating care and developing individualized treatment plans
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs
Administer medications and implement nursing interventions in accordance with best practices and hospital policy
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
Monitor and document patient responses, revising care plans as needed
Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and compassionate service
Mentor and support colleagues and new team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience required.In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and less than ten years’ experience, an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic Life Support (Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
