Registered Nurse - Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM)

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking 1 FTE Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic. As a valued member of the RAAM Clinic and Community Health Centre teams, the Registered Nurse will deliver compassionate, client-centred addictions care to individuals and their families within a collaborative interdisciplinary model of care. The position incorporates a strengths-based approach and is rooted in harm reduction principles and evidence-based practices.

The pay range for this position is $72,032 to $83,187 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
Eligible for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) that provides $25,000 in grant funding to eligible nurses in exchange for a 2 year commitment. Click here for eligibility criteria.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse with current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registration in good standing.
• Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in addictions nursing is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively, within interdisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to perform clinical activities in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario's Professional Standards and Standards of Practice.
• Utilizes professional assessment skills to identify physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of clients.
• Knowledge and proficiency in current evidence based practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and harm reduction.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within individuals who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
• Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle.
