Job Description

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including primary care, allied health, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention Network (IDN). Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Health Nurse looking for flexible work that fits your lifestyle? Whether you're balancing study, family, or other commitments — we have an opportunity for you to join our team!

This is a casual employment opportunity.

You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to improve the health outcomes and overall wellbeing of individuals in detention.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a broad range of clinical responsibilities, including immunisations, blood collection, wound care, health assessments, care planning, medication administration, and health promotion and education. The role involves delivering care that honours the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of detainees, while fostering a respectful and inclusive healthcare environment.

You will possess excellent communication skills, coupled with critical thinking and sound decision-making abilities. Your adaptability, flexibility and empathy will enable you to respond effectively to changing circumstances and meet the evolving needs of detainees. Trauma informed care and experience is highly advantageous.
