About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative team, supporting Endoscopy services within our theatre complex. (Please note that we do not have a standalone Endoscopy Unit.)

We are seeking applicants who are flexible and available to work across a variety of shifts, Monday to Saturday. Our operating hours are 7:00am to 8:30pm, with participation in an on-call roster required outside these hours.

Our team performs a broad range of endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and emergency endoscopy services, providing high-quality care to both elective and acute patients. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to participate in our Scout Program, gaining exposure to and supporting our Scrub/Scout teams within the wider perioperative environment. For candidates interested in expanding their perioperative skill set, there may be opportunities to upskill into the Scrub/Scout role, with education, support, and career development pathways available.

This position is ideally suited to a nurse who enjoys variety, is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, and is keen to further develop their perioperative nursing skills across multiple specialty areas.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse, your role will involve (but is not limited to):

  • Providing quality care to patients undergoing Endoscopy and minor procedures. Includes pre/intra and post procedure care
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with other health professionals in the delivery of health care including preparing patients for discharge
  • Working to ensure continuous quality improvement and abiding by risk management guidelines

You will be part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. The team is supportive, approachable and patient focused and provides excellent training and development opportunities.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous Endoscopy experience mandatory
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and share knowledge with less-experienced staff
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • A demonstrated awareness of and involvement in quality and risk management activities

You will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve our patient’s care outcomes relevant to the Endoscopy theatre
