Job Description

We are currently searching for a Fulltime Registered Nurse Circulator to work Mondays – Fridays who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks in a Multi-specialty ASC. Responsible for coordinating intra-operative care of the patient and indirectly responsible through coordination and information sharing of both pre – and post – operative care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to a diverse population in a multi-specialty environment.
  • Coordinate patient care, including admission, planned surgery, discharge, transfer to higher level of care and any appropriate referrals. Assess, monitor and communicate to the provider changes in condition and potential or actual problems.
  • Perform the circulating functions before surgery to include preparing the operating environment, orienting, and assessing the patient, and reviewing patient’s medical record and surgeon’s notes to ensure all pre-requisites and preferences are met.
  • Perform the circulating functions during surgery to include monitoring and communicate the patient condition, document interventions and activities, monitor the sterile area.
  • Performs scrub functions, including the preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures and perform surgical counts.
  • Document all interventions and activities per standards of care. Ensures safety checklists, interventions and procedures are implemented and documented as appropriate.
  • Perform and documents pre/post procedure assessment/evaluation/education of patient.
  • Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
  • Overall patient engagement and experience, including the Center’s Patient Satisfaction performance.
  • Adhere to the Center's professional conduct policies.
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform related work and other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Experience: 6 months of OR nursing (RN) experience
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Required BLS/ACLS Preferred: PALS
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and at times stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment.

Must pass a background check and drug screen.

The pay range for this position is: $36.00 - $55.00 / hour dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
