Position: Registered Nurse MNA

Department: Operating Room

Schedule:40 Hours, Variable Days/Evenings. Shift varies based on departmental needs: (4) 10 x hours shifts (630a-5p, 9a-730p, 11a-930p) or (5) 8 x hours shifts (630a-3p, 9a-530p, 11a-730p).

ABOUT THE OR DEPARTMENT:

The Operating Room at Boston Medical Center- South provides safe and efficient quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The department adheres to sterile protocols and is equipped with advanced medical technology to support a wide range of surgical specialties. Specialties offered include General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Thoracic, Spine, ENT, Podiatry, Urology, Bariatric, and Robotic surgery. Our registered nurses work on an interdisciplinary team alongside Surgeons, Residents, Physician Assistants, Anesthesiologists, Nurse Anesthetists, and Surgical Technologists. The department is comprised of 8 operating rooms which support the busy flow of elective, inpatient, and emergency procedures.

As an RN in the Operating Room, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
  • Experience Previous OR experience required
  • Certification/Licensure: MA RN license, BLS required

Compensation Range:

$38.10- $77.63

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
