A Brief Overview
Ahuja 5th floor is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit, in which all beds have cardiac monitoring capability. It is comprised of all private rooms. Our patients range from 18 years old to 100+. On the 5th floor, an interdisciplinary approach is used to provide safe, patient/centered quality care to those we care for, assisting in returning the patient to his or her optimal potential. The unit is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, RN’s, LPN’s, PCA’s and Clerical Associates. We work along-side the hospitalist team, community providers as well as many of the hospitals Nurse Practitioners and Physicians assistants. We also have a night shift nurse practitioner and surgical app on most evening shifts. We work well with other hospital departments to provide the best possible care to our patients.

COPD, Heart failure, Stroke, Pneumonia, Asthma/Bronchitis, Urinary Tract Infection, Chronic Renal Failure, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, Cellulitis, Decubitus Ulcers, Wound Infections, Hospice Symptom Management and Gastrointestinal Problems
Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
