About the Role
Provide nursing services including assisting with teaching, counselling, education, referrals, and administration of immunization at Lambton Public Health and in the community.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties:
• Responsible for professional competence as a nurse in accordance with applicable legislation and County policy
• Accept responsibility for maintaining current knowledge of practices and trends in the nursing and immunization fields. Apply this knowledge to the public
• Set up clinic times in assigned schools for immunization clinics
• Responsible for maintaining vaccines and supplies for school clinics
• Administer and record immunizations given in Department clinics, schools and in the community
• Attend in-service education programs as provided
• Co-operate with personnel of all areas within the Department
General:
• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Formal Education
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Current Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
Experience
• Demonstrated effective communication skills
• Knowledge of current Canadian immunization standards
• Physiology - especially referring immunization administration
A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.
