Job Description


Vista Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) The ICU RN will provide high-quality, critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert clinical judgment, advanced monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention in accordance with ICU protocols.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to assess patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
  • Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Document all care provided accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in emergency response situations, including resuscitation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of ICU, critical care, or step-down nursing experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-acuity setting.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
