About the role:
We’re currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurses to join our fast-paced Intensive Care unit at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside (SVPHN ) is located in Chermside approximately 10km’s north from the Brisbane CBD. Our ICU admits over 1450 patients per annum, managing a significant a cardio-thoracic caseload (over 50%), cardiology, endovascular, abdominal, orthopaedic and renal surgery. We are co-located with The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) a renowned as the Cardio-thoracic Centre of Excellence in Australia. SVPHN partners in this complex surgical speciality to undertake 650 private cardiothoracic surgical procedures each year and our department is at the forefront of cutting edge of technology and in advanced interventional and surgical procedures.

Things that work for us:
Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential
Willingness to be able to work on a permanent part time basis 36 hours per week
Advanced clinical skills, knowledge and experience within ICU including ventilation competency
Previous experience an ICU setting is essential
Previous experience in a Cardiothoracic setting, desirable but not essential
Effective communication skills at all levels enabling you to achieve best practice
You will understand the importance of providing quality care, and you feel rewarded by creating a genuine impact
Well-developed interpersonal and time management skills that provide the support and nurture for our patients and organisation’s needs.

Located at Chermside, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, has over 1,000 dedicated and skilled staff who treat nearly 35,000 people a year, delivering safe and high-quality care to all our patients. Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
