Registered Nurse, Infusion (Non-chemo)

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join our Infusion team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) independently and collaboratively applies nursing judgment to assess patients, provide education, and administer infusion therapies in partnership with managing clinicians.

The RN provides direct patient care using a systematic approach to nursing practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, defined scope of practice, recognized professional standards, and HealthPartners policies and procedures. The RN supports the mission, vision, and values of HealthPartners through safe, patient centered, evidence-based care, appropriate delegation, and serving as a clinical resource to colleagues. 

Work Schedule:

Casual/on call. Monday - Friday, 0700-1500

Required Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
• Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or diploma
• One year of nursing experience in infusion therapy, emergency room, hospital or equivalent setting within the past 3 years OR
• One year of experience with peripheral IV placement within the past 3 years.
• Role may require completion of the ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy course or equivalent 2-day course to be completed within 12 months upon hire.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
• Maintain a current Minnesota registered nurse’s licensure.
• Submission of application to the Wisconsin Board of Nursing for Wisconsin RN licensure upon hire, if applicable.
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. No online-only courses are accepted.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of professional nursing practice and safe medication administration.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Ability to recognize and respond to infusion reaction related complications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience with central lines (PICC, port, etc.)
• Prior infusion nursing experience (non-chemo)
• Experience with biologic or specialty medication administration
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
• Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI or equivalent)
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and adherence to USP <800> hazardous drug handling standards.
• Ability to assess, prevent, and manage infusion reactions and hypersensitivity responses.
• Knowledge of biologic and specialty medication, including mechanisms of action, dosing principles, expected side effects, and toxicities.
• Demonstrated competence in administration of biologic and specialty agents via peripheral and central venous access devices.
