About the Position

Harris Health is seeking a Registered Nurse II to join the 3C IMU Med Surg Tele team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

The Registered Nurse II provides safe, professional, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris Health nursing standards. In this role, you will independently manage patients with conditions commonly seen within the assigned clinical area while applying established standards, principles, and clinical algorithms to guide care.

You will assess patient needs, implement appropriate nursing interventions, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The RN II recognizes when additional assistance or resources are needed and takes appropriate action to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Diploma in Nursing accepted
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Licensure and Certification
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing in the State of Texas
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross-approved program
  • Additional certifications as required by the unit or service
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time RN experience OR
  • Successful completion of a Graduate Nurse (GN) Program
  • Communication and Language Skills
  • Bilingual skills preferred
