Job Description

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Northeast Specialty Services team in Portland, Oregon.

Provide compassionate care. Support reproductive freedom. Make a difference in your community.

At PPCW, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality, compassionate sexual and reproductive health care, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our nurses play an essential role in making that care possible, providing clinical expertise, patient education, and emotional support during some of the most personal moments in a patient's life.

As a Registered Nurse at our Northeast Specialty Services Health Center, you'll work alongside a dedicated clinical team providing reproductive health services, including abortion care and other specialized procedures. You'll help patients feel informed, safe, respected, and supported throughout their care.

This is an opportunity to use your nursing skills in a mission-driven environment where your work directly helps patients access essential health care.

What You'll Do

As a Registered Nurse, you'll provide hands-on clinical care, patient education, and support throughout the patient experience.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Assess patient needs, review medical histories, and provide nursing evaluations
  • Educate and counsel patients about sexual and reproductive health, contraception, pregnancy options, and abortion care
  • Support medication abortion services, including patient education and follow-up
  • Assist clinicians with procedural services, including abortion care, vasectomy, and other reproductive health procedures
  • Provide nursing care in surgical and recovery settings, including patient monitoring and support during sedation and analgesia
  • Administer medications and injections, perform phlebotomy, and establish and remove IV access
  • Perform laboratory testing and assist with ultrasound procedures as trained and authorized
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, responding to their physical and emotional needs
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up care, and communication of test results
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with clinicians and health center staff to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care
  • Help maintain clinical standards, patient safety, and a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment
