Registered Nurse (RN) – Resource Team (Float Pool)

If you're looking for flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to expand your clinical experience, our Resource Team (Float Pool) allows you to provide care across multiple hospitals while supporting patients and care teams where you're needed most.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Resource Team, you'll provide direct patient care in a variety of inpatient settings throughout Deaconess Health System. Using evidence-based nursing practice, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Resource Team positions are available in multiple scheduling levels to accommodate different availability and shift preferences.

Resource Team Levels

Level A

Shift Options

  • Days, Evenings, or Nights

Scheduling Commitment

  • Minimum of 48 hours every 6 weeks
  • Minimum of 24 weekend hours every 6 weeks
  • One Monday or Friday availability required

Holiday Requirement

  • One Winter Holiday and One Summer Holiday
  • One 12-hour shift required on each assigned holiday

Level D

Shift

  • Days (7:00 AM)

Scheduling Commitment

  • Minimum of 48 hours every 2 weeks (12-hour shifts)
  • Minimum of 48 weekend hours every 6 weeks
  • Two Mondays or Fridays required

Holiday Requirement

  • Holiday rotation
  • One 12-hour shift required on assigned holiday

Level E

Shift

  • Nights (7:00 PM)

Scheduling Commitment

  • Minimum of 48 hours every 2 weeks (12-hour shifts)
  • Minimum of 48 weekend hours every 6 weeks
  • Two Mondays or Fridays required

Holiday Requirement

  • Holiday rotation
  • One 12-hour shift required on assigned holiday

Compensation

  • $55.00 per hour (Non-Benefited)
  • Additional $7.00/hour night shift differential for night shifts worked at:
    • Deaconess Illinois Medical Center
    • Deaconess Union County Hospital
    • Deaconess Crossroads Hospital

Float Locations

Resource Team RNs may float between:

  • Deaconess Illinois Medical Center
  • Deaconess Union County Hospital
  • Deaconess Crossroads Hospital
  • Red Bud Regional Hospital

What You'll Do

As a Resource Team RN, you will:

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care using evidence-based practice.
  • Assess patients and identify actual or potential healthcare needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Safely administer medications following established nursing standards.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the electronic medical record.
  • Delegate nursing care appropriately while supervising support staff.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention standards.
  • Respond to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Maintain required competencies and participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Required Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within six months of hire)

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • One (1) year of acute care nursing experience
