What you will be doing in this role
As a Full-Time Registered Nurse/EP Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our team, providing compassionate and holistic care to our patients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ensuring that hospital policies are closely followed, from infection control to safe medication administration. You’ll be dedicated to offering expert care, observing patients closely before, during, and after procedures, and ensuring they feel informed and at ease every step of the way. At our hospital, we value the importance of patient comfort and emotional well-being, and you’ll play a key role in providing that nurturing support. You’ll also help manage resources, maintain equipment in top condition, and promote effective communication across the hospital, all while contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.
In this role, you'll be encouraged to continue your professional development, attending educational programs and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in nursing and Cardiac Catheter Lab procedures. You’ll share your knowledge and support your colleagues, helping junior staff grow and thrive within the team. Your work will reflect the hospital’s mission to provide holistic care, supporting not just the physical but also the emotional and spiritual well-being of each patient. You’ll ensure that safety and infection control standards are maintained, and always keep the needs of our patients and team at the forefront of your work. The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
