OF THE JOB
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care; demonstrates the knowledge, critical thinking and judgement of and integrates the use of evidence-based outcomes for nursing practice; supervises care delivered; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients, families and staff, and collaborates with other disciplines.
-Integrates care for patients from infants through geriatrics.
-Manages care of patients undergoing various endoscopic procedures.
-Demonstrates ability to care of the monitored patient receiving varying types of sedation: (IV moderate sedation, Monitored ANE care, and General Anesthesia)
-Demonstrates understanding of use and care of endoscopes and other associated equipment.
- Scheduled a mixture of 8,10, 12 hour shifts with weekends/holidays rotation, and rotating locations (Gateway, Midtown, GI Specialty Center)
- Must be flexible with start and stop times as they vary according to our schedule.
- This position will staff GI Pre-Op, Post Op,GI/GU procedure rooms and GI Scope/Equipment Reprocessing areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate from a nationally accredited school of professional nursing, no experience required. If graduate of non-nationally accredited school of professional nursing, then at least one year of professional nursing experience is required. BSN is preferred, or an education action plan in place. Newly hired RNs on or after October 1, 2014 with five (5) years or less nursing experience are required to receive their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in State of Indiana. Minimum RN experience 6 months to 1 year. ACLS certification.
